Wet cake (Brownie) Recipe


WET CAKE (BROWNIE) RECIPE

Its very easy to prepare and really yummy. Its a turkish recipe called 'islak kek' which means 'wet cake'. Hope you enjoy baking and eating it!

Ingredients:
3 eggs
1½ cups sugar
1 cup oil
1½ cup milk
1 small pack cocoa or 4 tbsp cocoa
2 cups flour
1 small pack baking powder or 1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract /1 package vanilla

Top Sauce:
1 cup cocoa mixture (2.step on the preparation)
1½ cup milk

Garnish:
Coconut flakes or crushed nuts for garnish

Preparation:
1. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar, till they become foamy. Then beat in oil, cocoa, and milk.
2. Then put aside 1 cup from this mixture to use it later. Mix in flour, baking powder and vanilla to the remaining mixture.
3. Preheat the oven to 170o C.
4. Grease the baking tray and pour the cake mixture evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
5. While the cake is getting baked, take the 1 cup mixture (you put aside before) and add half cup of milk to the mixture and stir it till it boils. When it starts boiling, put it on low flame and keep stirring for one more minute and leave it aside to cool down.
6. Do not open your oven for 20 minutes so that the cake will not lose its rising. To check whether the cake is ready, insert a toothpick in the center and pull it out, if it comes out clean, your cake is ready.
7. Once the cake is cooked leave the cake aside for 10 minutes and then pour the mixture (you put aside before).
8. Let it cool and garnish with coconut flakes or crushed nuts before serving.

Notes: You can prepare the cake in different shapes (flat tray, cupcakes etc.). I choose to make a birthday cake and decorated the cake with cream and strawberries.
